Google is reportedly dealing with a new audio alert for the Pixel Bud Pro 2 that validates when the buds are inserted properly.
In a teardown of the Pixel Buds application for Android, Android Authority found some code showing Google was developing a new sound alert for correctly inserted earbuds. In the publications explainer, it found code for a setups toggle that would show up in the Pixel Buds’ Case Appears menu (discovered under ‘More Setups’).
This will likely be a welcome modification for some, yet I question the amount of people consistently place their Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds into the instance the wrong way. I don’t believe I ever before have, and when I attempted doing it deliberately while writing this article, I saw that the lid of the situation would not shut effectively. That makes it quite hard to place the buds in wrong and leave them in. Still, having the instance make a little audio when the buds are put in correctly will probably assist some users.
Regrettably, the option isn’t live yet– the only toggle in the ‘Instance Appears’ menu today is for “other signals.” That consists of points like charging, low battery, successful pairing and mistakes.
Overall, this seems like one more tiny but handy use the built-in audio speaker on the Pixel Buds Pro 2 case. Although it doesn’t seem like a large bargain, having that little audio speaker is a surprisingly helpful enhancement compared to the initial Pixel Buds Pro. For instance, the audio speaker makes a depressing little chirp when the situation battery is low, which is a valuable suggestion to put it on charge.
Likewise, the little audio speaker works with Google’s Discover My Device software, permitting the situation to make a noise to aid you locate it if it goes missing.
